NPH Steals the Show on the Thanksgiving Parade

I know this is quite late, but I wanted to post it anyways.  I missed the Thanksgiving parade this year, but apparently didn’t miss much.  The one thing I did miss was Neil Patrick Harris’s  sideline commentary.  MeeVee has a nice write up of the coverage, where they go on to explain that it was a pretty boring event (per uuse) aside from NPH interacting with the crowd.  Smart move CBS.

NBC’s coverage was clearly superior in every way but one: Neil Patrick Harris. Someone at CBS was smart enough to bring in Neil as a sideline reporter of sorts, and he was a breath of fresh air. While both networks spent most of the three hours fawning over their own programming — in between trivial statistics about how much each float weighed — Neil interacted with the crowd, showing his wickedly sarcastic side. He also complained about the weather…a lot. Harris felt like that relative at a boring Thanksgiving dinner who decides to liven things up with a stream of borderline inappropriate comments. Gotta love him.
