TV Types Pet Peeves

Over at the Chicago Tribune, they have posted a list of some “TV Types” pet peeves.  Our Jason Segal was one of the five people asked about what television clichés they’d like to see go.

Jason Segel (Marshall, “How I Met Your Mother”): “As for doing away with a stereotype, I would say the misogynistic guy. Granted, I know they’re out there. Not like [“Mother’s”] Barney, [I mean] the ones who are mean-spirited. He’s not mean-spirited. I mean the sleazy jerk guy.”

Now maybe you are smarter than I am but, I had to go look up what misogynistic meant.  If you need to look it up too, Wikipedia has a good entry on the topic.

I think Jason has a good point, Hollywood sure does like to stereotype roles and the misogynistic is one of the oldest. What are some television clichés you’d like to see kicked to the curb?
