First Time in New York

This weeks episode is about first times in New York, in more ways then one. The show opens talking about how Ted said “I love you” on their his and Robin’s first date and explains how Robin when through the typical stages. In the first stage you think you think it, then the moment you think you know it, then you know you know it but you can’t yet say it, and then there is moment you know you know it and you can’t keep it in any longer.
We also learn that Robin’s little sister is coming into town. Only when Robin goes to pick her up, she has a new boy-toy with her ( I can’t believe i just said typed that) and she plans on loosing her virginity this weekend. This is where the show takes off and through out the episode we get to hear all the group’s “first times.”
There were several things that I liked about this episode. I loved Barney’s Relationship Freeway analogy but I noticed that there was no 9 years exit (how long Lily and Marshall have been dating). I also liked how they all wanted to hear the fake barney stories over the real one. This was the best way to handle his story because everyone had high expectations and picking any real story, like the episode showed, would have been lame. Finally I loved Lily and Marshalls analogy with “going to the empire state building.”
The one thing I didn’t care for though was how they make Ted out to be such a wuss. I liked his story about his first time when HE was the one leaving, but with the chick leaving it seems sad.

I liked it. Maybe it will put and end to the “they arent going to show Ted’s kids anymore” debate.
Almost wish I didnt watch the video first though. Kind of spoiled a big laugh for me. Robin’s sister is cute. The actress is legal, so at least I dont have to worry about being a perv.

Cute episode. Loved Lily and marshall’s first time and Ted’s reaction to it.

Fantastic episode. Easily the most entertaining thing I’ve seen in days. Loved the stories of everybody’s first time, and the sudden flashback to events from the first season (Ted being on the top bunk during Marshall and Lily’s first time, Ted admitting to being in love after one date). Excellent episode, like always.
Here’s to hoping it’s new next week!

Great episode! I loved how Barney kept finagling his way out of talking about his first time, and how when he finally told the truth, everyone wanted him to talk about his Baby up at dance camp. And the relationships being like freeways…I think I may have to steal that one.
Keith, Robin’s sister (played by Lucy Hale) is 17, and isn’t “legal” til June.

Oh man, 17?
I liked Ted’s other story, the other one just didn’t seen like something Ted would do. Ted isnt a wuss, he is just senstive at times. Atlhough obviously in college he didnt want a relationship and broke up with that girl over the phone. Well broke up with her machine. I hear CBS it delayed “Columns” which was to air next week. Anyone else hear that? Maybe they are afraid to waste it against the 2 hr “24″ event on FOX.

Hey, I notice that the Robin in the flashback looks kind of young… does Cobie Smulders play both the present day Robin and the past Robin or is it somebody else? Thanks.

As far as I know (with a little help from IMDB.com) Cobie plays both.
