70% Chance of Cancellation?

Cora sends in the following tip from the How I Met Your Mother forums.

“aimee said: Is How I Met Your Mother going to be renewed for another season?

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER: Per sources, some suits at CBS don’t find the show that funny and are thinking of yanking it. Seems that currently changes for HIMYM are 70% cancellation and 30% renewal. Better start your petitions, sending tiny paper suits to CBS by snail mail, and have all your US friends watch the remaining episodes or… I can’t bear myself to say it. :’(”

I find it hard to believe that it is 70%. Of course I’m biased, but really 70%? I can name a dozen worse shows on CBS…

I will be the first to say that HIMYM is the ONLY show I watch regularly on CBS. At all. So they need me.

Also, pretty much everyone in my fraternity watches the episode throughout the week, as we DVR it.

  2. Mark Says:

Ouch, 70%. This might possibly end my viewing of any CBS shows.

  3. Keith Says:

I think that is BS. They put it on Monday night with Two and Half Men instead of anything else before the NCCA big game.

  4. Dan Says:

Someone else posted awhile ago that it’s chances for renewal were 80%. I don’t think anyone has any real idea, because of the strange situation. Obviously, the opinion of executives carry a lot of weight, but could one executive shut down a show that gets solid ratings? If somehow the Class survives and HIMYM doesn’t just because some guy doesn’t find our show funny, then it will be a travesty.

I’d hate to say it, but I wish they all cared about money and ratings. I don’t care if everyone at CBS finds it funny.

They want reality shows. They’re cheap to make and morons seem to love them. I’ll boycott CBS and any product advertised on their network.

  6. Keith Says:

that was me that said 80% change to stay, it was a pretty solid tv writer for the philly papers here.
