Inspirational poster with DVD at Target

Voltaire sent me a little note to say that if you buy the season 2 DVD set at a Target store, the DVD’s come with an inspirational poster. It’s looks to be the same exact poster as the one hanging behind Barney in his office at the end of the Season 3 premier. There are a total of 5 posters hanging behind Barney in the shot, but the one that Voltaire got seems to be the only one that looks different than the rest. I wonder if it is the only one available with the DVD’s or if you get a random one. Anyone else buy the DVD’s at Target care to chime in?

If you remember back to the episode where Marshall first works for Barney’s company… shortly after the sasquatch joke there is a nod to this poster…
All the other posters are regularly available motivational posters, however this one Barney had especially made.
The line was something like:
Marshall: There is an inspirational poster for awesomness?
Barney: Yeah… I had it made specially…

Does anyone know if they are selling this poster seperately? I have to have it! I already bought the 2nd season dvds from another retailer. Target was sold out.

The poster is only sold at Target with the DVDs. If you’re lucky, you might be able to find it on ebay, but I am sure the price will be more than we’d hope. Also, this IS the only poster that comes around, there are no others.

If you remember, there was a second custom poster:
Barney: “Marshall, consider the penguins”
Marshall, reading: “Conformity. The one who’s different is the one who gets left out in the cold.”

Seeing my friend’s poster inspired me to make a few of my own. They are all suitable for 5 x 7 printing except the Awesomeness Poster, which I created as a 12 x 17 poster.

Thanks for the Conformity idea JD. I’ll get that one up soon.

Luzaire- I want to make a copy of those posters suitable for framing but Im a computer idiot! How do I do it??

Lu,
Click on the picture you want, choose Original Size, and download it. You can then either print it on your computer or send it somewhere (Walgreens, Wal-Mart, etc) to have it printed.

Hi, I know this is quite a bit of time since you posted this, but I just found this blog and I can tell it’s already awesome!
I want to follow up on Lu’s question and ask where I could find the actual picture of that jet which you used to make your poster. I wanted to make my own poster, but with different colored writing…pretty much similar to an actual motivational poster. Also, would you happen to know how much it would cost to have a poster printed?
Thanks!

Not to be nitpicky but in the image on flickr the by line says “Barney Stinton”. Should be Stinson.

Thanks for the catch, Phil! It’s been corrected now.

@Ronak
You have several options on the Awesomeness Poster.
If you just want the photo it can be found at iStockPhoto.
Luzarie made up a nice one that you can print for yourself. Mike made a poster for sale and I have several on cafepress. You can read about the bulk of those on a post I did a while back. Just click on my name up top to real about all there is to know.
Be Awesome Instead!

Love the poster (yes, it now says “Stinson”), but you’ve got a typo in the spelling of “instead” - “insetad” (at least on the “original size” copy)
