I Need Help
When I started this blog, I was pretty bored and didn’t have much going on during the week. I had plenty of time to spend researching stories, watching, re-watching, and re-re-watching episodes. Since then things have changed. I still really enjoy following the show and the site isn’t going anywhere. I am just looking for a little help.
I am looking for someone to do the episode recaps each week after the show. It needs to be someone who watches the show every week, has decent writing abilities, and most importantly can be counted on to commit to this for the remainder of season 3. If you’ve been enjoying the newest season and have been looking for a place to speak your mind, here is your opportunity. If you are interested email me a recap of this weeks episode “How I Met Everyone Else” to IWantToWriteForHIMYB (at) howimetyourblog (dot) com.
If maybe writing isn’t your bag, but you would like to help out with the podcast I am looking for more people to help with it as well. I would like to do it right after the episode airs on Monday, so you would need to be in the eastern timezone. It takes around an hour and all you need are microphone / speakers, a couple free applications, and a broadband internet connection. If you are interested in participating in the podcast send me an short audio clip introducing yourself and explaining your favorite scene from HIMYM to IWantToPodcast (at) howimetyourblog (dot) com.
I look forward to your emails!

I would really like to do it, but I live in South Africa and I don’t think they are even showing the 2nd Season on TV yet … so I wouldn’t be able to write timely recaps of each episode.

Do you have an example of what you would like one of these recaps to contain? I’m really into this show, so i think i could help out. Ive watched it from the beginning own both dvds, etc.

Whatever you think would be a good recap of the show. The type of things you would write if you were asked to recap the show each week.
I would think some good starting points would be a synopsis, favorite parts, least favorite parts, good quotes, what songs were played, who were the guest stars, etc..

Its a long shot but I’ve found makin a publically editable system (read wiki) the best way to get Episode Summaries of a show up quickly. I say this because most people don’t have the time to committ an update every week… but its public then we can all contribute.

Tim,
I understand what you are saying, but I don’t think a wiki is the answer. There is a wiki on the podcast site that has almost NO information, and has become over run with spammers (I don’t manage it). So while a wiki is nice because anyone can edit it, most people wont edit it, and it would be just another thing for me to fight spammers over.

Ben,
Yeah, I totally understand what you’re saying. I guess then the solution is to give a small to medium set of people (a team of sorts) limited access to wp-admin so that they can update the episode guides for you.

Ben,
While this response is a little late, I think I might be up for this task. I’ll recap tomorrow’s episode for you, and you can see if I’m right for this job or not. And if there are past episodes this season you havn’t fully recapped, I’ll do that too (just for those people who are new to the show). Look for my email tomorrow (I’m on pacific time, if that matters any)
