Ohhhh my… i’m speechless!!! Barney kissed ROBIN! I was hoping to read someone else’s take on this, but i’m the first! Where is this going??? I can’t wait until next Monday!

yea it was defintely pretty shocking, next weeks episode is called the goat so im guessing its about teds birthday but the one after is called the rebound bro which im assuming refers to what just happened

The episode sucked until the plot actually picked up with the kisses.

I guess I am the only one who thought the kiss was a line I hoped that they’d never cross. IMHO this can only make Barney less awesome: either he and Robin get together and he loses his single stamina, or they just have a fling and they both look cheap. Or even worse, Robin dumps him and he makes a video begging her to give him a second chance, with him crying his eyes out over his keyboard…I just don’t see this ending well…

now that im thinking bout this more maybe this is what sends robin to all those places they talked about at the end of season 2.
Think about it:
Barney and Robin Hookup
Ted gets pissed because his friend slept with his ex
Barney and Robin create some kind of scene at the 30th bday
Ted says hes done with Barney
Robin and Ted agree that they just cant be friends anymore
Robin goes off to all the places they mentioned in season 2 alone and leaves the entire gang behind
Ted makes up with robin years later and they remain life friends

I though the kiss was great. I’ve always through Barney and Robin would be good together. They have a lot of the same issues and they can always play laser tag and smoke cigars together.

It wasn’t a huge surprise to me. It’s clear that Barney’s always had a thing for Robin and they do match up pretty well. There have been plenty of good Barney/Robin moments throughout the show (having just re-watched all of season 1 and 2 with a friend, I really started noticing them). I think, for the sake of the show, Barney needs to stay single though. Ted will take it badly, clearly. My guess is that somehow Barney and Robin don’t end up together right now, but I don’t see any reason why “aunt Robin” and “uncle Barney” couldn’t be (in the future) “Aunt Robin and Uncle Barney”.
