“Shelter Island”
I’ll have my review up soon, but for now here’s a post for you to comment on tonight’s episode.
What’d you think? I think we all knew that this couldn’t be the actual wedding, but weren’t sure how things were going to turn out. I liked this episode. There were some funny points, some high points, and definitely some low points.
I’m sad that Stella is gone. We knew she would be, but I kinda liked her. Well what I mean is I liked seeing Sarah Chalke. I’m also sad that Barney messed things up with Robin. He just couldn’t contain himself (and really who can blame him).
My favorite part was when Robin and Ted were talking:
Robin: You stole a blue french horn for me, you tried to make it rain…
Ted: I did make it rain.

This was easily the worst episode of the show. I’ll most likely never watch himym again.

This was a great episode overall. The episode did show how difficult it can be for someone who is single with no kids and typically hangs out in an environment with no kids trying to become part of an established family. The fact that Stella never had a clean break with her child’s father, shows this. You cannot be happily married for 20+ years with such strong feelings for someone else, for which this show helped illustrate.
I do not think the Ted and Robin’s relationship will move past friendship. Robin was being a good friend and pointing out the obvious to Ted, who still seeks what Marshall and Lilly have. With Robin moving back to New York, this might explain why Robin lives with Ted in the apartment (no job and no place to live).
I also think Stella was introduced in the event HIMYM was canceled after last season. With the renewal, they are able to close that story and introduce the mother in a way that fits Ted (as Robin explained).
Barney will be Barney and he did try for the most part to “get” with Robin, but in the end, it is best that he did not sleep with Ted (Remember the Bro Code). Plus, the imagery they used for Barney trying to find a way to get with Robin was very creative!
This season just got interesting. Let’s hope that SAG does not strike (Which would be stupid given the current economy). Looking forward to more episodes and answers to the Goat, Yellow Umbrella, Etc…

Great episode, not quite as funny as ‘Intervention’ but fantastic story wise and that last few minutes certainly packed a punch. Saying that, still very funny. Barney and Stella’s sister throughout. Robin and Stella’s imagining dealing with their significant other’s ex at the wedding. And the various car/boat moments - the return of zitch dog (!) and “Road Trip 2″.

This was a great episode. I think we all knew Stella wasn’t going to be the mother, but it was still sad to see her go. Ted looked so broken
. I think Robin’s Japan job lasted too little…I mean, it was obvious that she would move back soon, but she was there for…What? A week? I loved Lily & Marshall & Barney’s expressions when they found out about the hotel (resort? whatever it was) having no alcohol or meat. Priceless.
And congratulations to Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof! They’re expecting a baby! I wonder if it’ll be written into the show…

wow, finally sarah chalke’s gone….i really liked this episode, favorite character this episode was stella’s Ex, hahaha but i did not see her ditching ted for her ex
i am totally convinced that the mother’s gonna be robin, i hope so. when you think about it, the mother HAS to be a character that everyone that loves this show likes, and i personally hated stella, and it’s gonna be hard to get a entirely new character and make all the fans fall in love with her…. i wish they would cool it off with the potential mother thing, it was much better when the gang was just hanging out and dealing with day to day issues.
God Bless.

Could anyone tell me the name of song playing at the last part of the episode(from 19′ 37″ to 21′ 09″ ) or send me any link for it?

Here’s a link I found when I was also looking for the song. It’s in Chinese, the other’s the translated version.
I also think that Robin is the mother but somehow I also feel like the mother is actually the lady Ted bumped into in the bar during St.Patty’s Day (Season3Ep12). whew.
Can’t wait for the next episode.

Robin is not the mother. Just watch all the episodes starting with season 1 and you will be able to determine that. The writers and creators of the show are too creative to simply make Robin the “mother.”
When the mother is announced, it will be a great episode, or mutli episode experience towards the end of the show’s run.
Looking forward to the fallout from this last episode. Should be fun to watch.
