That time has come…
This has not been a easy decision, but I think it is the right one. I have decided to retire this blog.
When I started How I Met Your Blog, the show was new and exciting. I didn’t have a whole lot happening on Monday nights and work was slow. I had plenty of time to dedicate to the site and enjoyed working on it. Recently you have probably noticed that all the post have consisted of new episode announcements (the day they air) and quick little comments on what I thought. Both of those have become a chore to do and have caused me more stress than excitement. I haven’t even seen the last two episodes, much less had time to post about them! Things have been picking up around my life and I just don’t have the passion I had when I started.
The good news is that while I was one of the first HIMYM dedicated blogs, several new ones have sprouted up. My new favorite one is “Have you met Ted?“ JD runs the site and is a very talented writer. He is passionate about the show and works hard on his blog. If you are looking to keep up with the show and aren’t familiar with his site, I certainly suggest visiting and poking around. The other resource I would like to direct you to is the HIMYM Forum. While I haven’t been on there in a while, it was one of the first places I used to go to to share my opinions and discuss the show. These are the two places that I will be going for all my HIMYM gossip.
Thank you all for visiting, commenting, sending in tips, and especially all the encouragement and kind words. It has been an absolute pleasure to get to know you and read what you think about this great show. I would like to especially thank Cora, Jack and Voltaire for the help with the podcast. I will be leaving the site up as a resource for fans, but this will be my last post.

it’s a shame to hear it. this site has been “legendary” ( i had to use it at least once ) i loved checking it out every time i would watch the show.

Awww I am sad to hear that you are shutting the site down, but I completely understand. Since last year my free time has went down the drain, but please pop in to the forum once in awhile to keep in touch, and thanks for mentioning it! and you’re welcome with the pod cast.

Wow….this is depressing
man this was the very first site i discovered for HIMYM recaps and news and gossip and thought it was LEGENDARY ( i also had to use it in a sentence =P) but i eventually went on to discover have-you-met-ted and legen-waitforit.com
still, i always enjoyed coming onto this website and reading the recaps/reviews on the latest episodes and hearing wat u had to say about it
i speak for alot of people out there when i say “we’re gunna miss u Ben!!!”
again this is relly sad news…
im going to miss this website and hope u the best of luck in the future Ben!

Sorry I’m getting this out after the site is set to be retired…but I just found out about a charity auction hosted by Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi benefitting America’s Second Harvest and they have a HIMYM set visit package!!!!! I enjoyed every minute working on the podcast with you Cora and Voltaire, I find myself in a similar predicament, I am still a huge fan of the show but I no longer have the time I once had, our site we started HIMYM.org got eaten by spam. I like to think we helped get the ball rolling in the HIMYM fandom. It’s nice to see several more pop up and I am constantly coming across more and more fans, the show is headed to a good place and I loved working on the podcast, I will always have fond memories of it.

It’s sad to see when a good blog must be retired for whatever reason. It looks like you had a good group of readers as well. I love the show, “How I Met Your Mother” and wished I had come across this blog earlier. Best of luck to you.
