When I started How I Met Your Blog, the show was new and exciting.  I didn’t have a whole lot happening on Monday nights and work was slow.  I had plenty of time to dedicate to the site and enjoyed working on it.  Recently you have probably noticed that all the post have consisted of new episode announcements (the day they air) and quick little comments on what I thought.  Both of those have become a chore to do and have caused me more stress than excitement.  I haven’t even seen the last two episodes, much less had time to post about them!  Things have been picking up around my life and I just don’t have the passion I had when I started.

The good news is that while I was one of the first HIMYM dedicated blogs, several new ones have sprouted up.  My new favorite one is “Have you met Ted?“  JD runs the site and is a very talented writer.  He is passionate about the show and works hard on his blog.  If you are looking to keep up with the show and aren’t familiar with his site, I certainly suggest visiting and poking around.  The other resource I would like to direct you to is the HIMYM Forum.  While I haven’t been on there in a while, it was one of the first places I used to go to to share my opinions and discuss the show.  These are the two places that I will be going for all my HIMYM gossip.

Thank you all for visiting, commenting, sending in tips, and especially all the encouragement and kind words.  It has been an absolute pleasure to get to know you and read what you think about this great show.  I would like to especially thank Cora, Jack and Voltaire for the help with the podcast.  I will be leaving the site up as a resource for fans, but this will be my last post.

I’m writing today to tell you all about my Review scale. I will be giving each episode that I review a score, coming from a scale that looks something like this:

5) De-wait for it-nied. Denied!

So at the end of each review, one of these ratings will be there, and you’ll be able to see how good I thought the episode was. I think Ben will also be posting polls on each of my review so you guys can vote on how good you thought it was as well!

Joel here, the new review guy for Howimetyourblog.com, and I’m dropping in to introduce myself and give you all a little info on me.

I live in Orange County, CA (no, it’s not that cool), and my absolute passion in life is film. I plan on being a director when I graduate from Chapman University’s film school. I’ve read a couple reviews on this weeks episode and oddly enough I don’t agree with most of them. Most have been positive, but I just didn’t think this weeks episode was that great.   I agree with JD, in that the structure of the episode was better than others, I just thought the porn convention was a lame plot line, and the credit card debt has been played out time and time again.  I mean even this season, The Office had a whole episode about the lead character in financial trouble.  Maybe I’m just being too harsh, but the folks in this weeks live chat pretty much all agreed it was a less than stellar episode.  Speaking of the live chat, we’ve had just a few people in there, but we are having great conversations about the episodes.  Voltaire is a HIMYM encyclopedia of knowledge and puts me to shame each week.  You should come join us either during the episode or right after it finishes for some lively debate.

Lastly I am still look for help with writing for HIMYB and/or doing the podcast.  For the podcast, I’m okay with people not committing to the whole season.  Just email me and let me know you are interested and we’ll work out a time!

I am looking for someone to do the episode recaps each week after the show. It needs to be someone who watches the show every week, has decent writing abilities, and most importantly can be counted on to commit to this for the remainder of season 3. If you’ve been enjoying the newest season and have been looking for a place to speak your mind, here is your opportunity. If maybe writing isn’t your bag, but you would like to help out with the podcast I am looking for more people to help with it as well. It takes around an hour and all you need are microphone / speakers, a couple free applications, and a broadband internet connection.
